Card icon

Every Maricopa County resident, business owner, or property owner and resident of the Town of Queen Creek is eligible for a free library card from Maricopa County Library District! If you live outside of Maricopa County or the Town of Queen Creek, you may purchase a card for $50.00 for 1 year, or $25 for 6 months.

You must renew your card every year. You can do so online, in person, or over the phone.

Search for items, reserve items, schedule curbside pickup and reserve study rooms using the myLIBRO App. You can download the myLibro app from Google Play or the App Store.

As long as no one has requested your item, you may renew up to 5 times by phone, in person, or online at mcldaz.org/renewitems.

We offer a large collection of digital books, audiobooks, movies, TV, and music through various platforms. Some of these require apps while others are available directly from our website. Your library card provides full access!

Max Library Access logo

MAX is a countywide book sharing service between public libraries throughout Maricopa County. If we do not have a book you are looking for, search MAX to see if it is available from one of our partner libraries.

Library customers can check out a Chromebook or a Hotspot to use at home, and get access to the library’s online services and resources.

Check out one of MCLD’s Book Club Boxes for everything you need to host a Book Club! Each box includes 10 books and a discussion guide to use during the Book Club.

A Citizen Science Kit is a small box that contains everything you need for a specific science experiment. Each Kit includes a printed activity guide, helpful tips, and any specialized tools or materials you need to complete the project.

MCLD has partnered with Act One to provide Culture Passes at all 15 of our libraries! Culture passes can get you admission to museums, performances, gardens and other attractions in Arizona.

Start a garden by checking out vegetable and herb seeds! Available seeds depend on seasonality and you may check out up to three packets per month. Available at El Mirage, Fairway, Fountain Hills, Perry, Ed Robson, Sun City, and White Tank libraries.

Library customers ages 18+ can check out a telescope! You may check out availability and place a request online. Checkout period is 7 days. Generously donated by community organizations.

Available at Southeast Regional, Fountain Hills, El Mirage, and Georgia T Lord libraries.

Library customers can check out a ukulele, tuner, and song book! You may check out availability and place a request online. Checkout period is three weeks. Donated by the Sun City Ukulele Club. Available at Sun City, Fairway and North Valley Regional libraries.

Services

All of our libraries have public printers available. Print directly from one of the library’s computers, or use mobile printing to submit your documents online and then print at the library! Printing Costs $0.25 per page for Black & White and $0.75/page for Color.

All of our libraries have computers available to use. You will need a library card or a guest pass from library staff to use our internet computers. We also have catalog only computers that can be used to look for items in our library.

Wi-Fi signal icon

All of our libraries have public Wi-Fi inside the building. You can also access Wi-Fi outside of our buildings during business hours.

Some of our libraries have study rooms you can reserve. Reserve a study room online, over the phone at (602) 652-3000 or through the myLIBRO app. By reserving you agree to follow study room policies. Each library may have additional study room policies.

Restrooms & Water Fountains

All of our libraries have public restrooms and water fountains. From May 1 through September 30, all MCLD branches are official Cooling Centers of the Heat Relief Network.

When your requested items are ready, you have the option to schedule an appointment to pick them up without leaving your car! Schedule your pickup appointment online,over the phone or through the myLIBRO app.

The Maricopa County Library District sends Large Print books to homebound Maricopa County residents who are otherwise unable to access library materials. These books are checked out for a three-week period, and sent for free via the U.S. Postal Service.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) provides access to materials belonging to other library systems shipped to your library for easy pick up and return. ILL often includes fees.

Schedule a video appointment to receive help with your library card, Chromebook/Hotspots, downloads & streaming library services, or homework. Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Your appointment may be scheduled within an hour of your requested time.
