MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. – December 11 – Take me out to the…. library! Maricopa County Library District’s (MCLD) annual Winter Reading Program is back with an exciting new prize partner. This year if winter readers hit 500 points, they will earn one lawn ticket to a Spring Training baseball game at Camelback-Ranch Ballpark. Running now through Feb. 11, 2024, participants can log their reading online at winter.mcldaz.org (English) or invierno.mcldaz.org (Spanish).

Unlike the Summer Reading program, MCLD’s Winter Reading Program is for Adults only. Participants earn one point per minute for reading physical or electronic books or listening to audiobooks. Extra points can also be earned for completing themed online challenges.

“We hope the Winter Reading Program will encourage people to slow down and connect with a good book this winter,” said Jeremy Reeder, Maricopa County Library District Director and County Librarian. “Then after that much-needed ‘me’ time, hit up the ballpark and celebrate with a game!”

If readers enter at least 60 points each week, they will automatically be entered into weekly drawings to win Library Prize Packs, a Harkins Theater Prize Pack, “I Love My Library” Car Sun Shades, or a Maricopa County Parks Day Pass. All participants who reach 500 points by February 11, will earn one lawn ticket to a spring training baseball game at Camelback Ranch Ballpark.
