Surprise Libraries
Northwest Regional / Surprise Regional Library will be closed Friday 3/24 - Sunday 3/26 due to a large special event in the immediate vicinity – the inaugural City of Surprise Bases & Brews Music Festival.
Beginning on Monday, February 13, the City of Surprise will begin it's transition to take over operations of Northwest Regional, Asante, and Hollyhock Libraries. For current hours and services at Surprise Libraries, please visit surpriseaz.gov/library or call 623-222-2900.
Customers will continue to use a Maricopa County Library District library card and account to checkout materials and use computers/printers through June 30, 2023.

Monday, February 13-Tuesday, February 14
- Northwest Regional, Asante and Hollyhock Libraries will be closed for staff training.
Wednesday, February 15
- Asante and Hollyhock Libraries reopen under City of Surprise Management. Programming, staffing and day-to-day operations will be overseen by the City
- Northwest Regional library will remain closed for renovations, under City of Surprise management. The lobby will remain open for limited browsing, holds pickup and events.
Friday, March 3
- Northwest Regional Library reopens. Programming, staffing, and day-to-day operations remain under City of Surprise Management.
Saturday, July 1, 2023
Borrowing & library access will change.
- You will need a Surprise Library Card in order to check out physical materials from the three Surprise library branches.
- Your Maricopa County Library District Card will no longer be used at any Surprise Library branch.
- Your county card will continue to give you access to MCLD's digital library and to check out materials from the 15 MCLD Library branches.
