PHOENIX, Arizona — May 3, 2011 — More than 300 family-friendly games now provide frenzied fun to children, teen and adult gamers, much to the delight of Maricopa County Library District’s e-material fans.

Two-thirds of the downloadable titles are in English and the other third is in Spanish. Games are suitable for the entire family.

Popular children’s games include Spongebob Atlantis SquareOff and the Dora the Explorer edition of Candy Land. Farm Frenzy, Mystery Case Files and Mystic Inn are examples of other games that are part this new collection of materials.

According to Terese Sexton, library materials selector, “Games for Libraries is an exciting new service that gives customers the chance to play games in their own homes. Games are compatible with PCs and designed for easy download.”

“We were extremely fortunate to have forged a partnership with Library Ideas to acquire these new resources for our customers,” said MCLD Deputy Director Cindy Kolaczynski. “Depending on customer interest, as more titles become available in the coming weeks, we will continue to add to the collection,” she exclaimed.
